The Fuller Center NWLA works in collaboration with service-oriented organizations and countless volunteers to build and repair homes.

Creating partnerships that bring together churches, schools, businesses and civic organizations. We build decent, affordable homes for people who are unable to secure adequate housing by conventional means.We are committed to good stewardship, and work hard to keep our administrative costs low and to select our recipient families wisely.

This helps to ensure that the vast majority of your tax-deductible gifts go toward building and repairing homes for those in need.

Help with all aspects of home building. We have both construction and non-construction volunteer opportunities available to you.

Consider a donation to Fuller Center for Housing of NWLA. Each gift you make helps a family in need of decent shelter. We also are in need of donations at the Fuller Surplus Store. We accept new and gently used building material.

Fuller Surplus Store

The Fuller Surplus Store accepts donations of building materials and resells them to the public to help fund new construction and renovations projects in our area. Some of what we accept for donations and resell include:

  • Ceiling fans and lighting
  • Flooring
  • Sinks and plumbing fixtures
  • New hot water heaters
  • Landscape and painting supplies
  • Doors and windows

Our Basic Methods

The Fuller Center for Housing of Northwest Louisiana (FCHNWLA) was founded in 2005 in response to the housing crisis created in Shreveport by the influx of Hurricane Katrina evacuees.

  • No profit and no interest mortgages (Exodus 22:25) – Payments are used to assist other families in need.
  • Volunteer labor and donated materials - Whenever possible, local and/or green building materials are utilized.
  • Sweat Equity labor required of new homeowners.
